Manic Street Preachers will release a cover of The The’s This Is The Day on November 7th and have just released the video for the single. The video features footage from the bands career to date including images of  member Richey Edwards who went missing in 1995.

The single is taken from the Manic Street Preachers forthcoming best of album, entitled National Treasures, which is out on October 31st and features 37 of the bands previous single releases.

A special one off Christmas show will also take place at London’s o2 Arena on 17th December. The band promise  that the show will be

“Glitter, glamour, special guests and a ticker-tape celebration. A never to be repeated one-off visual experience encompassing 21 years of MSP with 38 songs – from 1990’s ‘Motown Junk’ to (but not in order!) 2011’s ‘This Is The Day’. There will be an interval in order to top up on refreshments and like all the best parties, you’ll talk about it for years to come and your friends will wish they’d been there.”
