Introducing: FOLKS

Avalanche

Those of you who are going to see Miles Kane’s upcoming tour and those going to see Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at the Roundhouse in London will be treated to a support set from new Manchester 6 piece FOLKS.

The band were formed when guitarist and writer Michael Beasley joined vocalist Scott Anderson. The duo relocated to the US to record some tracks together. This soon became their debut album, which will be released early 2012. On their return the duo roped in Thom Fripp – lead guitar, Harry Gumery – bass, Wil Akroyd – keyboards and Elliot Barlow –drums to give Folks a fuller sound, especially when playing live. To introduce themselves a little further the band have offered up their track Avalanches as a free download (see below to download for free).

Folks have been out in the UK on their own headline tour and still have a few dates left before setting off to play with Miles Kane.
