Dear Reader have worked with multi award winner Rob Savage to produce this beautiful video for the track Took Them Away.
It isn’t just for the way the video so carefully marries together with the lyrics that this is my chosen video for today. Also for the stunning use of light and lack of, the slow motion that adds drama and also for the use of viewer perspective, which really helps with the telling of such a sad and very human tale.
Speaking about the footage, Savage states, “The video tells the story of a young girl who misinterprets something she sees and inadvertently causes tragedy to ensue. We wanted the visuals to have a theatrical quality, taking place in a black void representing her view of the events, almost as though the action was taking place on an empty stage.”
