FKA Twigs

Well by now I would suspect that you already have some kind of idea of what to expect from FKA Twigs and this self-directed series of videos that accompanies her new MELL155X EP more than delivers. Darkness versus light, evil vs good, death, birth, colour and lack there of, sexual prowess, possession are just some of the themes.  Her visuals and her music are both intimidating and calming but ultimately it’s the mix of industrial and other genres that really sings to me in terms of the music. There are themes that are explored that some might find uncomfortable, but that for me is just another reason I found myself transfixed. Proof that FKA Twigs isn’t “just” (as if that’s a bad thing) a musician but a complete concept artist.
