Amber Run
After a period of relative quietness, in terms of new releases, Amber Run have returned with something which takes a total departure from their usual sound. Haze still compounds their stunning vocals to create a feeling which is so deep that I’m not sure if it’s the words, the sentiment or the emotion from the harmonies that gives me a lump in my throat when I listen to it. It’s raw and stark in every sense and the video is a clever representation of what it’s like to have a mental health illness.
The band have been open about the meanings and reasons behind the track and have also announced the departure of drummer Felix Archer from the band for “personal reasons” but want fans to know that Amber Run will continue and that they’re working on a second album.
