One of the finest acts to emerge from Glasgow in recent times, Honeyblood are back with Ready for the Magic, the first single from their long-awaited second album Babes Never Die, and on this evidence they’ve returned even better (and louder) than before. A distinctly heavier song than anything from their debut, Stine Tweeddale adds a punky spikiness to her vocals, complimenting the more ferocious musical sound which belies the fact that there’s only two instruments used. Upbeat, raucous and still oozing with their trademark charm, Ready for the Magic is the sound of a band ready to take on the world.
