Just Watch: The Orielles – I Only Bought It For The Bottle

The Orielles

Words: Charlotte Minett

You know the feeling when you buy a drink with the sole reason being that is has a sick bottle and then you realise that it tastes shit, and if you’d have known that you’d have bought another? Well that is exactly what the Halifax trio, The Orielles’ new track is about, titled I Only Bought it for the Bottle on Heavenly Records. This unique concept for a song goes hand-in-hand with The Orielles’ wonderfully unique garage, American 90s, post punk sound. Made up of sisters Esme and Sidonie and best-friend, Henry the young band have stayed true to their initial mellow bass-heavy sound but this time, adding a brittle guitar twang to their infectious new track. This band is certainly one to watch.
