Just Listen: Chloe Howl

Chlow Howl

Words: Caleb Curtis

It might be titled Do It Alone, but between its infectious synths and warm bass licks, Chlöe Howl’s new track will leave you longing to be on a dance floor along side your mates. The British singer-songwriter’s accent shines through her roaring voice, boasting an impressive range that she doesn’t hesitate to utilise – especially on the track’s searing chorus. “If you’re trying to leave your girl for me/gotta do it alone/you gotta do it all on your own” warns Howl with discernible confidence – something that is evident throughout the four minute track. It’s a refreshing burst of kinetic pop goodness that the charts are desperate for, owing more to 70s disco than it does to any of Howl’s contemporaries – just prepare your feet for the instinctive tapping.
