JUST WATCH: Sisteray – Wannabee

Sisteray – Wannabee

Words: Gary Lambert

The latest release from London’s Sisteray is a controlled piece of punk rock which takes the vigour and power of the four-piece, but harnesses the kinetic energy in order to create a track which pulsates and electrifies without losing the tune within the fuzz and scuzz you would usually associate with the genre.

In fact, you could imagine ‘Wannabes’ to be a great soundtrack to an advert probably showing that oft-seen-in-reality scenario of urban kids free running through a housing estate. I would say that there is more than a hint of Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’ to the chorus.

Or should I say more, more, more than a hint. But if you hold that against Sisteray then you’re going to be the one who misses out.
