The Clause

Birmingham four-piece The Clause are taking the music scene by storm with their groovy, bluesy sound, a jam packed festival season and recent EP release ‘Forever Young’. If you were able to catch their set at Truck Festival a few weeks ago, you know what we’re talking about… We were lucky enough to catch up with them ahead of their appearance!

1. How are you doing?

We’re all good man. Busy as ever and ready to go tear the roof off Truck Festival. 

2. Will you have any new tracks to play at Truck Festival?

We have our new single Forever Young ready to play plus a brand new song we’ve never played before that’s gonna be thrown into the set. 

3. If someone hasn’t seen you before, which song will best encapsulate your style?

In My Element. Perfectly captures the big riff based songs we produce with a feel-good chorus and an instrumental that makes you want to bounce around.

4. Are there any other acts at Truck Festival you’re looking forward to catching?

There’s too many acts on the This Feeling stage to mention. I would happily stay there all weekend and have a great time. It’ll be the first time I’ve seen Kasabian in about 5 years so I’m looking forward to seeing them back up on stage. 

5. What makes festival season so important to you?

Festival season perfectly captures what music is all about. Getting yourself into a field with thousands of other strangers and listening to the music you all love. Putting your arm around someone you don’t know and singing your heart out, it’s what everyone in this industry lives for. 

6. What are your favourite memories of festivals?

My favourite memory was our first ever major festival appearance at Isle Of Wight in 2019 on the This Feeling stage. We turned up expecting to play to no one and hundreds of people showed up and packed out the tent we were in, it was something we’d been dreaming about for years. 

7. When you’re in the van on tour, who is in charge of the music?

Gotta say our guitarist Liam, just because he’ll sit and cry if he’s not in control. It’s almost like giving a child a toy to keep them happy for the day and it works haha.

8. Are you playing any more gigs this year we should know about?

We’re headlining one of the 110 Above stages in august, a festival that has a massive line up this year. We’re also playing with Circa Waves at Live at Central up in Newcastle which is a city we love. The line up for that is incredible as well it’s going to some day. After that we head back to Birmingham a few weeks later to support Ocean Colour Scene, one of our favourite bands growing up which is going to be a special one for us. We’re going to be on the road for the rest of the year with some big news planned so there’s gonna be plenty of chances to catch us live.
