All Points East – The Strokes, Friday 25th August 2023

London’s iconic two-day weekend festival, All Points East, is back for another cracking year. Featuring an array of musicians and bands playing across a few stages per day, there is a genre of music for everyone with the eclectically built lineups. We’re big fans of All Points East, having attended over the years, and we can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow to see The Strokes tear up East London’s Victoria Park. From exciting up-and-coming artists like TASH & Picture Parlour to my personal favourites FEET & Silvertwin, it’s set to be a cracking day in the sunshine, cold beverage in hand, soaking up the nostalgia of seeing The Strokes live.

Our Picks

TASH

One of our more recent discoveries here at Popped Music, and among the openers for the day is TASH. She is one to see from the lineup, as we believe her forceful and gutsy sound will envelop All Points East. Powerhouse vocals, chest racketing bass and loud gritty guitars are what we expect from this pop meets metal artist TASH. Now we have not seen her live before, but if her latest single Dead is anything to go by, TASH will be one you remember from the day.

Picture Parlour

New to the music scene since July this year, we are excited to catch the set of Picture Parlour at All Points East. Their debut single Norwegian Wood delivers vulnerable lyrics and raspy emotive vocals paired with bluesy guitar melodies and addictive bass lines, to give the listener a glimmering track you’ll have on repeat. Plus, the cracking guitar solo feels like an ode to the glam rockers their sound takes inspiration from. We can see this four-piece going down a treat at All Points East!

Silvertwin

Jangly guitars, vocals to make you melt, and catchy choruses – Silvertwin is the perfect band to slot into a sunshine-filled day festival. I personally first discovered the London-based band a few years ago through their track Ploy, and I’ve not looked back since. What is so clever about their songwriting and sound is how they blend nostalgia from the old 70s classics with their own modern mix to create magic. Anyone who gets a chance to see them live at All Points East is lucky – I’m certain Silvertwin will have you up and dancing from the first note played.

FEET

Another firm favourite of ours to catch at All Points East is FEET – known for their popular tracks English Weather, Petty Thieving & more, you’ll be sure to see the most eclectic-sounding band around at the moment. They have a talent for making every song they create sound completely unique to the last, yet FEET are consistent in adding flair on every instrument they play, giving you one hell of a live performance. Fingers crossed you won’t have to pack an umbrella for their set! (A little pun there for fans of their track English Weather)
