Introducing: Hattie Murdoch

Ocean Floor EP

Lincolnshire born Hattie Murdoch recently released her début EP, Ocean Floor, through brand new imprint label Portable Magic who are based in Newcastle. Hattie takes her influences from far and wide including her own experiences being in rock bands, jazz bands and orchestras when she was younger and then later exploring everything from hip hop, female singer songwriters, DJs and “anything I could lay my hands on. She goes on to describe her music as being on the “darker, leftfield side of pop.”

Now residing in Newcastle so far Hattie has worked with Global Underground/Ministry Of Sound producers John Elliott and Andrew Archer, whom she worked with on the Ocean Floor EP. After working hard to gain followers and critical acclaim in her new hometown, Hattie has also played her first London gig at the Water Rats in Kings Cross earlier this year.
