Single Review: Wild Nothing – Nowhere

Nowhere

Released 21st February 2012

When you first listen to this track you might think, hmm doesn’t sound all that great, but once you listen to it a fair few times something just might start to pull you in. At least that is what happened to me. It sounds like a hundred other songs that I like, so of course it makes sense that I should like this too. It has a great little melody, and it is probably that part that works it’s magic on me the most. The lyrics are nothing special really, but yet still sweet in their sentiment and that matches the tone of the piece making it all fit together and work as well as it does.

There’s just the right amount of movement and tempo in this song to enable you to do a little more than just sway, not sure I can say full on dancing and shaking it, and we do love to shake it. You’ll often see me say the following statement “it reminds me of the magic numbers” and I quite want to say it here, but I can’t quite say it justifiably. I really enjoy the vocals on this track, it might even be that and the melody that won me over actually. It’s the soft texture, hint of a whisper and yet doesn’t feel too weak. The male vocal has that warble in it too at times. I find that quite endearing for some reason. It adds a different point of interest I guess, some people get it so wrong through, this pretty much hits it right.
