Video Alert: Florence + The Machine – Breath of Life

Breath of Life

Being a huge fan of Florence + The Machine coupled with a strange love of Snow White (and Alice in Wonderland as it goes) I could not resist putting this video up. There is one thing I have to say before I go on, and that is, in my mind this video contains spoilers of the film Snow White and The Huntsman, the film for which this song was written for.

It’s written from the perspective of the Wicked Stepmother herself, Queen Ravena,  (booo hissss, although an amazing performance from Charlize Theron!) and is about her unabating obsession and lust for eternal youth.

Not only does the video feature images taken from the film it also shows footage from Abbey Road studios where the track was recorded with a 110 strong orchestra and backing choir.
