Single Review: F.U.R.S – Just Kids

Just Kids

FURS Just KidsReleased 19th august 2013

The sound on F.U.R.S single Just Kids is packed tight and yet still has enough room to breathe an air of lightness and have moments of pure simple breeziness. It’s like a hectic summers day, driving around roof down, parking up, running through a forest and then splashing around in a lake before finally collapsing by the side to dry off and then doing everything again in reverse.

The extra percussion throughout adds an extra note of interest and twinkle when needed. When the chorus hits in the music takes it up a step where as the vocal melody doesn’t really change in pace and it works really nicely. Vocally there is a really nice sultry tone and coupled with lyrical content it makes for a really interesting combination. This is a rock song that’s been given a big dollop of nostalgia and has had me hitting the repeat button more times than I thought I might have wanted to initially.
