It took me ages to realise that it takes well over one minute for any actual music to come into the equation in Transviolet’s new track Girls Your Age. It’s all the vocal that keeps your attention. OK it has layers and effects but there’s a starkness which fits the lyrics and finds you transfixed. The fact that it took me ages for this to even come into my conciousness proves what a good job they’ve done with the production and structure. When the music does come in, it doesn’t feel at odds, it just gives the track  interest, movement and drive but the overall feel remains quite minimalistic.
