Just Watch: White Lies – Take It Out On Me

White Lies

Words: Gary Lambert

white liesThree years has passed since we were last able to listen to something new from White Lies – and when you watch this video it stretches it out a little bit longer with a Robert Rodriguez inspired vision of Mexico. It is two minutes and thirty four seconds into the video before the tune starts to hit, but tune is right. With an almost-breezy synth accompanying a simple and effective bass rhythm, Take It Out On Me is perfectly timed for the last few weeks of summer. This is definitely a poppier number than we have previously been used to from White Lies which suggests to me Roddy Woomble covering 80’s Wonderful Life by the late singer Black. As previously I was not that taken by White Lies I would suggest this is definitely a good thing.
