Just Watch Alex Hulme – Family Tree

Alex Hulme

Words: Gary Lambert

Alex Hulme’s latest release, Family Tree, has an oxymoronic feel to it. Throughout the three minutes the verses feel both sparse and modern, yet the chorus manages to build into a deep, textured blast which has the structure of very traditional folk music, possibly even religious, but with the power and harmony which you would imagine to come from a band rather than a soloist. Indeed the setting for the video as Alex plays in a series of timeless locations such as the beach or a forest suits the track perfectly.
