Lucy Rose really is a gem isn’t she? I first started listening to her when she released the gorgeous ‘Work It Out’ way back in 2015 and the fact she’s about to release her fourth album ‘No Words Left’ is music to my ears – literally.
The first track taken from the new album is‘Conversations’ and it opens with the intricate guitar patterns that Rose has perfected since she arrived on the scene in 2011. Dark and stunning in equal proportions, ‘Conversations’ is a gorgeous track despite being full of so much pain on Rose’s part.
Eerie soundscapes add to the intense atmosphere which clings to the track and Rose’s dulcet tones fail to offer comfort on this occasion. This is a story that commands to be heard and it’s a big ‘fuck you’ to the guy (or girl) that plays with your heart.
