JUST WATCH: Annabel Allum – You Got It Good

Annabel Allum – You Got It Good

Words: Nicholas Jacques

Fresh from seeing Annabel kill it in style with her slot at the Camden Rocks festival, this is a strong choice of song to be releasing. It has a cool effortless swagger stapled to it with echoes of early PJ Harvey and hints of Courtney Barnett in there too. She has a very distinctive voice and has a commanding edge to her music. This is definitely an artist who knows what direction she’s going in.

The video is meant to depict how someone with mental health feels on the inside and I think it has some strong messages within it which makes for compelling viewing, especially when the glow in the dark scenes pop up out of nowhere!

Expect Annabel to be going places this summer as she and her equally impressive band venture out on to the festival circuit. She’s already being touted as one of Britain’s promising singer/songwriters in the country and it’s not hard to see why. Yep, she’s definitely got it good!

You Got It Good is out now and available on all on-line music streaming services
