Bleanavon – I Want You

‘I Want You’ is the opening track to the Blaenavon’s much anticipated second album ‘Everything That Makes You Happy’. The single seems to be a song sharing love but with a nod to heartbreak too. The beat starts off steady but picks up, evolving into an uplifting, energetic yet emotive chorus. Lyrically it really is emotive as the lead singer repeats ‘it’s not what you said, it’s how you said it…I want you’, the repetition in the chorus is hard-hitting, you can truly feel the pain he was going through almost with him. This really sets the tone for the rest of the album that is extremely lyrically emotive, tying in the band’s poetic lyrics, with upbeat songs.
Despite the tough year, that Ben, the lead singer, has opened up about in regard to his recent mental health struggles, this album really allows you to follow his to recovery with an emotive tone mixed with the euphoric tunes showing his progress and strength to become happier again. This single is a strong beginning for the album, setting the tone for what is to come.
