I have an admission. I fell in love with Mouthbreather from the moment I saw the title in an email. Thankfully that immediate hit of sneering retribution is not undeserved as Saltwater Sun provide us with another example of their collective ability to interweave the pop vocal of Jen Stearnes with a wall of gentle urgency and soft fuzz that could be The Ramones or Duran Duran. That oxymoronic tightrope is why Saltwater Sun are a band I have fallen in love with as this is a three minute hit that could pop up anywhere. You could be dancing around the kitchen making breakfast as the sunlight comes in, or you could be damaging your hearing in a sweaty basement. Everywhere Mouthbreather is home.
