GIT Awards Preview

The Get Into This Awards, GIT Awards, for short,  has become a firm and exciting fixture in the Liverpool music scene calendar. Dubbed ‘The Scouse Mercury Prize,’  and backed by Yoko Ono the winner of the GIT Award 2015 will be revealed on Saturday 4 April 2015 at The Kazimier and the winner will receive a specially commissioned trophy and cheque for £1,000.

This year the standard of short listed music acts was so high I have no idea how they managed to pick a finalist let alone announce the winner today. Yet they did.

A panel of music industry experts from across the NW alongside Get Into This Editor Peter Guy, decided upon their winner for their one to watch for 2015. The accolade goes to Huyton born Louis Berry.

Louis was picked above many other talented new acts from the NW including Circa Waves, Låpsley and D R H O N E to win the coveted award.

Below you’ll find music by all the short listed nominees for this year’s Git Award, the overall winner will be presented during the awards. The Awards are strictly invite only, however, a very small amount of public tickets have been made available here.

During the awards, hosted at The Kazimier, nominated acts will play live including the 2015 One To Watch award winner Louis Berry so it’s one not to be missed.
