Any track that can open up as though it’s about to burst into a gospel hymn and then totally flip it on it’s head and add in edgy beats and a sweet melody has instantly got my vote – well in this case it does. Weathered is the new single from Jack Garratt and yet again it adds further colour to his works of art. That’s all I can call them to be fair – each track a new painting, a different shade of Jack; always drawing from industrial sounds and interpretations, always fusing his soulful vocals in ways that seem, at first, somewhat unexpected. Each song/painting pulsating in its contrasts of colours and themes. He’s so onto a winner again.
