Just Listen: The Orielles – Jobin

The Orielles

 Words: Julia Grantham
the oriellesIt’s hard to believe such an accomplished sound can emerge from a group so young and as such, is
a fantastic example of shoegaze vocals at their best. Jobin by  The Orielles is catchy, melodic and
rich in harmonies. This track has a very laid back feel to it, inviting us to think of the summer
ahead. It has wonderfully tuneful guitar passages and is reminiscent of 90s shoe gaze and Indie
eras. The Orielles are described as ‘Yorkshire’s best secret’ but with songs as tuneful and uplifting as this, let’s hope they don’t stay a secret for long!

Jobin is taken from the EP of the same name and is released on March 25th through Art Is Hard.
