Just Listen: The Roscoes – Skin/The Wall

The Roscoes
Liverpool based band The Roscoes have been working really solidly since the middle of last year – they’ve been writing, recording and laying this shit down so hard that even having one of The Vaccines (drummer Pete Robertson) couldn’t fight the urge to get involved as their latest producer.
The result has been the release of double A-side Skin and The Wall. Both tracks stomp and shimmer, guitars and vocals busting out Blues sounds hard, while the drums and bass both swagger so hard it makes my hip bone fear for it’s sanctuary inside its socket. On Skin, interestingly enough, it’s the cymbals that bring the shimmer while the guitar shreds all over the shop. The Wall might be slower in pace but there’s certainly no lack in power here – you want a side of scuzz and feedback with your Blues? You want that straight up? No ice? You got it.
