The Telermen
Words: Gary Feeney
As we’ve noted before on Popped, there’s a seemingly endless procession of good bands emerging in and around Glasgow these days and amongst the latest to appear is four-piece the Telermen, featuring one Dillon Squire, Son of Stone Roses legend, John.
Trust You, the lead single from the band’s debut EP, Organic, is a high-octane slice of garage-punk with Squire’s vocal reminiscent of the half-snarl, half-drawl perfected by The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman, although it’s the sizzling guitar solo from which really sets the song alight. A combination of musical brawn and brain, this is a song which improves with each listen and is a fine introduction to the Telermen.
