The appealing laid back California pop of Trails and Ways has gained them an abundance of followers in the 4 years since their debut 2012 EP. After the success of their first album, Pathology the four piece have returned with a brand new single My Things, still strutting their trademark chilled, dream-like take on indie pop.

Although maintaining their usual calm, drifting atmosphere, the new release features a more deconstructed feel, with lead singer Keith Brown using a uniquely disjointed style of lyrical delivery, adding a certain swagger to his vocals and to the song as a whole. The tracks blend of catchy indie riffs and soothing vocal overlays from Brown and Oppen creates an extremely appealing two and a half minutes of musical relaxation that improves with every listen. Not only is My Things the perfect song to create a summer chill vibe, with its daydream feel, but also as a more energetic crowd pleaser due to the infectious easy going ‘drop’, into the chorus. Following this new single, ‘Trails and Ways’ look set to return as good as ever with the likelihood of a second album looking increasingly high.
