Just Watch: Spring King – Detroit

Detroit

Words: James Booton

spring kingFull of aggression, passion and plain and simple musical talent, Manchester quartet Spring King have perfected their fierce indie rock, unlike any other band around. The high school formed group leaped onto the indie scene with various singles but have now managed to release their debut album Tell Me If You Like To featuring the track Detroit.

This song is a perfect example of the hard hitting grunge feel, rarely dropping pace from the very start and creating their own interesting blend of darker grunge with upbeat more indie-pop chorus’ for some tracks. The unique performance style of Tarek Musa who is the lead singer as well drummer and all round front man gives an influx of energy to the group, leaving no rest for moshers at any live event making them a brilliant live act. However this energy can also be felt simply listening, especially in this track, Detroit
