Harlea
Words: Lewis Rogers
Seemingly out of nowhere, North London’s Harlea has announced herself in a huge way with her excellent debut single Miss Me. Encouragingly the song has proven very popular online without having the advantage of backing or promotion from a major label behind it, being streamed thousands of times despite little information on the 22 year old musician being available.
With Harlea’s moody, husky vocals and the track’s powerful blues-rock , Miss Me perfectly captures the often unpredictable and intense emotional ups and downs of a relationship and packs riffs and a chorus that are as infectious and hard to shake off as the song’s central love affair itself.
If the positive response to Miss Me is anything to go by, be prepared to hear a lot more from Harlea in the near future. Anyone proclaiming the death of rock should be eating their words right now…
