Having confirmed their status as one of the finest purveyors of full-on rock’n’roll in recent times with their 2016 album, Want It, Need It, Baby Strange have returned louder and more visceral than ever with their new single Motormind.
Clocking in at just two and a half minutes, Motormind seems to increase in energy with each bar, with singer Johnny Madden spitting his lyrics out over a searing guitar line and the tight drums and bass of Connaire and Aidan McCann. Round about the half-way point, the track drops to a brooding and ever-so-slightly menacing section, taking the tempo down before exploding back in to the final, anthemic chorus, signing off in typically raucous fashion. With an EP of new tracks due in the next few months, Motormind is a perfect appetiser for Baby Strange fans old and new.
