Just Watch: Estrons – Strobe Light

Estrons

Words: Nick Jacques

It takes a lot for me to get hyped about bands these days. For me they don’t genuinely come along that often because the media big them up so much it hurts and there are so many bands out there that it sometimes feels like the scene gets saturated for too much.

Within hearing 2 minutes of Estrons’ latest offering Strobe Lights, I was starting to think that might be about to change.

Strobe Lights is a piece of cutting-edge garage punk with a melodic chorus that is both infectious and compelling. I found the singer’s voice reminiscent of the Gwen Stefani/Tragic Kingdom era. On this evidence I am not surprised that they have been receiving positive reviews from every corner and having performed at high profile festivals (Latitude, SXSW and The Great Escape) this welsh band can only go from strength to strength.

They are also touring with Honeyblood shortly, I know who I will be cheering on ……
