Just Listen: Trash – Migraines

Trash

Words: Gary Feeney

Having spent the last year or so honing their craft on the live scene via a number of prestigious support slots, Chesterfield four-piece TRASH are gearing up for the release of their forthcoming E.P. in the form of new single, Migraines.

Opening with a guitar line which sounds like it might be emanating from Dr Who’s Tardis (think Telstar by the Tornados), Migraines is an absolute delight from the off. With the hazy guitars, light harmonies and breezy vocals, this is an irresistible slice of dreamy, summer indie-pop, but as it reaches the choruses, there’s an added edge which is a little reminiscent of The Cribs’ in their early days: it’s a delicate touch, but it brings another dimension to an already glittering song.

With a few festival appearances on the horizon and a single of this quality to their name, it looks set to be a productive summer for TRASH.
