If you’re looking for a good dollop of attitude and high-octane, tongue-in-cheek ranting then you can’t go far wrong with Yuk Foo, the sublimely bitchin new single from Wolf Alice. The title alone is enough to engender a wry smile, which then turns into a knowing guffaw as the single bangs into action in all its explicit glory. If you checked Wolf Alice out because you were captivated by singer Ellie Rowsell’s recent angelic performance on 3WW for alt-j you are in for a massive surprise. This is no tinkling love song; this is two fingers up to all those shitty relationships you’ve hung on to, even though your soul is screaming get out, get out, get out! It is raw, honest, grating and damn good fun. Yuk Foo is the first single from Wolf Alice’s second album, Visions of Life, out 29th September via Dirty Hit Records.
