Model Aeroplanes might just have produced the best slice of optimistic and fun indie rock since Friendly Fires were making music. The song in question is the ‘surefire summer anthem’ Lover. And it’s great. It’s upbeat, it’s catchy and has a feelgood vibe that has meant this song has been on repeat in the Bewes household over the last few days. The Dundee quartet Rory Fleming-Stewart on Vocals & Guitar, Grant Irvine Lead Guitars & vocals, Ben Buist, Bass and drummer Kieran Smith have produced a single that if there was any justice will be all over the radio. Imagine if Blossoms, Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club and Fenech Solar formed a supergroup and you might be on the right track. I can’t wait to hear what comes next.
