The rain is falling hard outside and it’s dark and dank and all those other dreary words you shouldn’t be associating with August and my mood is shocking. What I need is something that can transcend all of this and lift my spirits. Thank goodness then for Twin Kidd and their latest offering: Retrograde. While it’s not all guns blazing happy bouncy clap clap, which I think would be just too much right now – but instead there’s just a hint at twinkles and sunshine – a glimmer of hope, balancing both lyrics and my mood simultaneously. From the vocal to the 80s synth sounds it all comes together to form something that’s just what I need.
