Just Listen: Pale Waves – Television Romance

Pale Waves

Words: Elena Katrina

It’s interesting to see how far Pale Waves have come over the last 12 months or so – their brand new single Television Romance sounds as if they’ve been having out with The 1975, which is no bad thing but their live performances have always been more grungy than poppy. Television Romance and their previous single, There’s A Honey, have both moved away from the sound that I’ve always had in my mind for the, in fact I can’t even find evidence of their music pre these two songs online, suggesting this is definitely a sideways step as well as well as one forward. This  style though, it suits them, they still have their darker grungier look but now they’ve gone and chucked a load of black glitter over everything – digging it!
