Cavalry

Cavalry return with their second brand new track of 2017 and Black delivers on everything I’ve come to expect from this band, and more. It’s highly emotional, to the point where I get goosebumps listening to it. I’ve known singer Alan for 10 years and followed his various musical endeavours and nothing has connected on such a deep level as his material with Cavalry.

Melancholic sweeping melodies pick you up and cocoon you in their sadness. Black reminds me of some of my favourite music from the likes of Banners (Ghosts in particular) and Rhodes. It’s the haunting melancholy, the space in the music, the darkness of the emotion and the connection.
