Magick Mountain are back with another sharp slice of heavy psych rock which continues to conjure up satisfying tremors. This latest prime cut, Infinity X2, effortlessly blends melodic King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard tones with gargantuan solos that moan and flow in glorious fashion – there is plenty to admire here. The rhythms and patterns unleashed in their latest offering leave you wanting more of the same!
The musical colours and shapes this band are creating and throwing down on their canvas may be of a similar ilk to some other contemporaries but that doesn’t mean to say that they don’t play with a fresh and invigorating sense of optimism.
Magick Mountain are a band who sound like they are on a mission to spread their love of heavy psych rock and I couldn’t be more than happy to join them on their quest! With their debut album, Weird Feelings, entering our orbit on 23 October 2020 there is a lot to be excited about and the lift off is going to be one which Popped will be watching closely with anticipation.
