Introducing: The Art Club

The Art Club

Forming in late 2011 The Art Club are one of the latest new bands to catch our attention. David Murdoch – Guitar and vocals, Harry Gorst- Drums, Sally Nimmo-Keyboard and Callum Crombie – Bass all make up The Art Club. With influences and likes including, Art, Clubs, Bruce Springsteen, Joy Division and The Shirelles you can kind of imagine the fun this band have putting together their sound.

As yet the band have not signed to a label nor have management but care not of these formalities, they will go ahead and release their debut single this summer. They also have a spate of live shows coming up:

JUNE
01 – Preston Mad Ferret
08th – Lancaster- Yorkshire House
15th – Manchester Night and Day
21st – London Bull and Gate
JULY
21st  – Leeds, Milo
The Art Club are also good enough to allow us to share a demo of their track Baptism with you good folks.

Joy Division tone minus the atmosphere and thrills. The intro harks back to Wham – Last Christmas, or is that just me?!

hmmm, well personally I can’t hear Wham but even if I could… I’m not 100% sure I’m willing to say that it would be the worst thing in the world. Don’t hate me, Wham have their cheesy place in music lover’s hearts… maybe even yours? (VERY very deep down of course)
