Just Listen: Acrylic – Awake

Acrylic

Words: Georgia Evans

acrylicFrom the start of Awake I was instantly enveloped with catchy guitar riffs and a steady drum beat which I found myself moving my head to without realising. All of that and that was only ten seconds in. The vocalist of Acrylic has a strong sturdy style to his voice. His pitch varies a fair amount too which makes it different to any other track I have listened to recently.

It’s the last forty seconds or so of Awake that shows the true greatness. An instrumental  which is filled with energy. Refreshing high pitched chords of the guitar which sees the once average indie song takes a sharp turn and finds itself transformed to a serious piece of soaring sound which spins and spins until you’re completely taken of up into its hurricane.
