Just Listen: Youth Club: Sorry

Youth Club

Words: Gary Lambert

youth clubWell this is interesting! The next step in the journey of Youth Club has toned down their indie pop sound and let their love of dance music and DJ work get a grip of it. Rather than sounding like an English band making summery guitar pop for jumping and dancing to, we are now taken to a different level with Sorry. To be honest, this could have been released by Justin Timberlake, or any other high profile pop star who wants to be taken seriously, whilst still keeping the older fans happy. And I do not mean that to be disparaging. This song is dripping with urban cool and pretty far from the sounds of Southend-on-Sea. It is definitely radio friendly and you are going to have to explain to a few of your friends pretty soon that this is not their first track
