Threshold Festival, now in it’s 7th splendid year, is a collaborative approach to a festival – with many other people involved in curating the music stages and events and this year we are thrilled to announce our involvement with the Popped Music Stage!
In this particular preview we have Craig MacDonald, writer at GetIntoThis and now turned Liverpool promoter with CMD Presents.  His stage  at this year’s festival at on Sunday 2nd April in 24 Kitchen St. This stage features Queen Zee and The Sasstones // Wild Fruit Art Collective // Katie Mac // The Cheap Thrills // Luna// South Island Son.

” There really is nothing quite like Threshold. You can turn a corner and see or hear something fascinating on each day, in every part. Last year I saw Maggie Thatcher squirting milk out her nipples before being tearing it up in a mosh pit. Mental! Musically, it is unrivalled when it comes to unearthing new talent and really provides up and coming artists with a great platform, something we hope to show with Liverpool University Band Societys Battle of the Bands winners set to play our stage.
” To be part of that is deeply humbling and exciting and I hope that this is the first of many years we get to work together with all the incredible people behind it. ”
” For our lineup this year, we wanted to reflect the diversity that Threshold supplies so much of and we hope we have achieved that.”

ONES TO WATCH: CMD Presents

Queen Zee and the Sasstones

“One of the most exciting and hard working bands around right now. The passion they possess is huge and is devastating in the flesh. I love their DIY attitude to their music and to what they represent. They are loud, vicious and ready to take on anything that’s thrown at them.”

Wild Fruit Art Collective

“I like music that challenges you and makes you think about it lots no after you listen to it, which is exactly what WFAC do. Doom lashed psych experimentation at its best, that for a band in its infancy is a thrilling prospect to witness.”

Katie Mac

“If you are looking for great songwriting, then you need look no further than this exceptional woman. She has flourished into an all conquering songstress with her latest work and is sure to captivate those at 24 Kitchen Street.”

“Infectious riffs with tinges of Sci Fi synth make The Cheap Thrills a tasty offering that gives the often stifled indie scene the boot up the hoop it needs.”

“Stunning vocals and sensory sonic delights a plenty, LUNA creates the type of dark pop that I adore. She continues to get better with every set I see and will blow you away if you haven’t witnessed her spells yet.”

“Who ever tells you it’s grim up north needs to be introduced to the tropical folk americana grooves of these Mancunians ASAP. Vibrant sunshine waves will hit the Baltic when they come to play.”
