Just Listen: The Night Cafe – Felicity

The Night Cafe

Words: Gary Lambert

The Night Café want your attention – and they are going about the best possible way to get it. When listening to this track, Felicity, the opening lightning bolt of angry guitar jangle is enough to make your eyes pop out of your head like a shotgun fired by Wily E. Coyote. That note is enough to get a raving review from me, but when it is the start of three minutes of guitar pop that is musically the resurrection of Marr, Rourke, and Joyce then you need to take your hat off to these lads. The Night Café are going about setting up for big things in the best possible way. Limited hype, loads of word of mouth, and effortless intelligent guitar music that makes you want to dance and savour. Hail potential future kings!
