Just Listen: Plaza – Speak It

Plaza

Words: Gary Feeney

Following a busy summer of support slots and festivals appearances including acclaimed sets at Reading & Leeds, PLAZA have just released their latest single, Speak It, and it’s yet another epic from the Hartlepool quartet. Featuring a thunderous intro, the song gives way to a haunting guitar line which reverberates under Brad Lennard’s plaintive, commanding vocal before launching into a huge chorus, Speak It is everything good about PLAZA and a lot more: there’s the same atmospheric vibe as their previous tracks, but with an added edge that’s reminiscent of the Verve in their early days in, particularly in Matty Nicholson’s atmospheric guitar playing.

We’ve had high hopes for PLAZA since we first heard them and like everything they’ve released since, Speak It sets their own standards even higher again.
