Just Listen: The Orielles – Let Your Dog Tooth Grow

The Orielles

Words: Joe Cockburn

Following a jam-packed summer of festivals, heavily-tipped Halifax trio The Orielles have returned to our ears with latest single Let Your Dog Tooth Grow. Their third release since signing with the brilliant Heavenly Recordings, this latest dreamy, upbeat surf-pop toe-tapper is their first since announcing the completion of their debut album, due for release next year.

Discussing the frustrations of growing up confined to their home, Let Your Dog Tooth Grow perfectly displays the band’s style and influences, with catchy, sing-a-long lyrics and guitar hooks which are to die for. The Orielles’ signature extended outro does not go amiss either, as the melodic, shoegaze track is joined by eclectic synth riffs to add yet another dimension to a song you won’t be able to get out of your mind. The album can’t come soon enough.
