Chloe Pitchford is a new name to me. And to the music scene in general. Apparently, she is a well known name on the Open Mic circuit and eager to get up, sing and play her guitar at any given opportunity. And on this evidence, her audience should enjoy her performances. Horoscopes & Cigarettes is her third release, following on from Messing Around and Take You There. All three songs share the same qualities. Great musicianship and songwriting.
Listening to her music, you wouldn’t think that she only started writing original songs last year! If you imagine a cross between the rawness Lissie’s voice and the pop sensibilities of KT Tunstall, you shouldn’t too far off the mark. BBC Introducing are already fans, and so am I.
