I’m thinking of taking up smoking just so that I can have the full benefit of listening to this sultry piece of Americana in the dark whilst nursing heartbreak with whisky on the rocks. Whilst Jade Bird is a highly spoken about British talent, I could comfortably imagine Furious to fit perfectly into the songbooks of female country music stars like Tammy, Dolly, or my modern favourite, Lindi (Ortega). With beautifully tortured and stretched notes, it is impossible to not feel the emotion which emanates from her with every word. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let Jade Bird enter your soul.
