Just Listen: Far Caspian – Blue

Far Caspian – Blue

Words: Sammy Sadler
As the very last days of warm weather start to fade away, I find myself trying to cling on to any kind of hazy, dreamy soundscape that I can find.

One reason tends to be that I don’t really appreciate this style of track as the darker nights creep in, that’s where I need the gritty guitars and the rock & roll. But whilst we’re in this transition period and autumn doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing, Far Caspian have caught my attention with their lush new track ‘Blue’.

The Leeds quartet have already been hailed for their infectious dream-pop and it’s easy to see why. ‘Blue’ has the right amount of haze and gorgeous riffs that ripple into laidback beats with summery vibes.

Almost bordering on psych-pop, ‘Blue’ will transport you into a daze of warm days sprawled out on the grass at a festival whilst you’re serenaded by bands opening up the day. Might not be my usual thing, but I’m definitely a fan.
