Just Listen: Sam Fender – Hypersonic Missiles

Sam Fender – Hypersonic Missiles

Words: Sammy Sadler

It’s no secret that we are HUGE fans of Sam Fender here at Popped so you can imagine how excited Elena and I were to get his brand new track in our inbox. And of course with living in the Toon, Critics’ Choice Award winner holds a special place in my heart. So I’m really pleased to say that Fender’s latest single is another massive tune.

It has to be said that I think ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ is personally my favourite track from Fender to date. I know that this is a bold statement considering I bang on about everything he releases but I think that is because it reminds me so strongly of Bruce Springsteen. It has an anthemic quality that makes you reach straight for the replay button as that last note finishes.

There’s an old soul about Fender when it comes to his music that commands you hang on to each lyric and imagine it filling arenas across the world. Keep your ears pinned back for twinkling notes, powerful crescendos, stunning vocals and a gorgeous sax to top everything off perfectly.

Can you fall in love with a song? I even don’t care, I’m calling it. More of this please Sam!
